| IDO Annual Update 2021 - LUPZ Hearings Coming Up
Planning staff submitted proposed changes to the Integrated Development Ordinance (IDO), the City's zoning code, the 2021 annual update in October 2021. The Environmental Planning Commission voted in December 2021 to recommend approval, with conditions, to the City Council. The City Council's Land Use, Planning, and Zoning (LUPZ) Committee will review proposed changes at a minimum of two hearings beginning in March 2022. Details about the hearings and proposed amendments will be posted on the project webpage as soon as they are available. Hearing #1: March 16, 2022, 5 p.m. (Location to Be Confirmed)
Staff will provide an overview of the 2021 IDO Annual Update to the committee and present any new proposed amendments, and LUPZ will take public comments.
Hearing #2: March 30, 2022, 5 p.m. (Location to Be Confirmed)
LUPZ will deliberate and may vote on proposed amendments and then may vote to send the IDO Annual Update to the full City Council with a recommendation of approval, denial, or no recommendation.

| Paratransit Board Seeks Advisory Members
Members of the community are invited to become a part of ABQ RIDE’s Paratransit Advisory Board (PTAB). Sun Van is ABQ RIDE's paratransit service. It provides accessible transportation to community members whose impairment makes it impossible to ride the fixed-route service. Those impacted by paratransit service are encouraged to join the advisory board. The members of this committee serve in an advisory role to the City of Albuquerque Transit Director and the department. Public meetings are held every other month to addresses a wide variety of matters relevant to the paratransit community. Meetings are held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. every other month, on the third Tuesday of the month at the Alvarado Transportation Center (ATC), 100 1st St. SW. Members must be residents of the City of Albuquerque and able to attend the meetings. To apply to serve on PTAB, visit abqride.com. | Mardi Gras "Take a Ride on Us" Program Offers Free Uber Rides
The Bernalillo County Department of Behavioral Health Services, the New Mexico Department of Transportation, Cumulus Media, and Ron Bell Injury Lawyers announce details for a safe ride option for Mardi Gras celebrations. The “Take a Ride on Us” program provides the community the ability to take advantage of a safe ride option instead of driving under the influence during the weekend celebrations in which alcohol consumption is common. The “Take a Ride on Us” campaign is offering 500 rides beginning on Friday, Feb. 25 at noon through Wednesday, March 2 at 3 a.m. Participants can redeem the Uber code BEADS22 to get the discount. Each code will provide a credit of up to $15 off two trips. The credit can only be used for rides, and not Uber Eats, and the discount doesn’t cover tip.
