Hello,

With the utmost sincerity and setting aside both the desperate/grasping tone of that particular post and the often ironically unneighborly behavior of the NextDoor app, I’m just not at all interested in heresay and unproductive one-way conversations.

What I think we all would enjoy more is a posted response from the owners of H&D to some unsubstantiated claims that they are likely unaware of. None of this really makes much sense— a lack of parking signage all around? No evidence of a camera system? When and how was this promised, to whom and in what way?  Both of those items would be very cheap and easy to solve either way.

Have you considered getting in contact with them to ask about this?  Everything shown to us thus far is that these owners are communicative. That would be something of great value to share with us neighbors.

It is my hope that you take that opportunity to walk across the street, shake hands and speak, or at least drop them an email and let us know what you learn!

Last, as your neighbor, know that I 100% back you and your right to a safe place to call home.

Best regards,

Drew

Hello supports of Public House:

This is a reminder about the promises that Public House owners made to us, especially about what good neighbors they are at High and Dry. I saw the post below on the Nextdoor app and felt that I should share it with my neighbors. I live directly across the street from the future Public House and will be affected by this type of behavior. I expect we will see the same behavior from patrons of Public House after being open for a year or so.

Drunk High and Dry Patrons disturbing neighborhood and Broken Promises On quite a few occasions now, when we were at Learners Chess in the evening to pack up for our Chess in the Parks event the following day, we have been accosted by drunk High and Dry patrons who use our private driveway space for their parking. On one occasion a very drunk man got in his truck and drove away after exclaiming he could park wherever he wants. On another occasion, when we asked a young woman to not park in our space, she got her boyfriend to come yell at us and threaten us. It was very frightening. We are so disappointed in High and Dry. They have broken so many promises that they made our neighborhood association when they first moved in. We were hopeful that their business would be an asset to the neighborhood, but it has only been a nuisance. They promised to stay closed Mondays and Tuesdays. They are now open every single day. They promised to put up signs in the alley to prevent parking in the alley. They now require their food trucks to park their trucks and their employees' cars in the alley. They promised to set up video cameras to monitor crime in the area. There have been multiple crimes and they have no video cameras. They promised not to over serve their patrons but on multiple occasions we have personally witnessed very drunk and stumbling patrons get in their cars and drive away. This business is not a good neighbor and not at all an asset for our neighborhood.

Friends and Neighbors.

The hearing examiner approved the request for conditional use as you can read on the attached notice of decision.

He attached several of our conditions.

I would expect the applicant to apply for a liquor license for the taproom/tasting room in the future.

When we receive that we will put it out to you using this email list.

Kind regards,

Gary Eyster
