City Council Meeting on Monday, August 15 Returns to Hybrid Format


The Albuquerque City Council will be returning to a hybrid meeting format for the City Council Meeting on Monday, August 15, 2022, at 5:00 PM. Members of the public will be able to participate and observe the meeting in the Council Chambers and virtually on Zoom. 
Following Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advice for public gatherings in Bernalillo County, we are encouraging members of the public that attend the meeting to please wear a mask inside the Vincent E. Griego Chambers. The agenda for the meeting is available at: https://cabq.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx. Please note that the maximum number of sign-ups for General Public Comment have been reached. However, you are still able to sign up for individual agenda items or submit written comment via the Contact Your Councilor webform. Members of the public have the ability to view the meeting through GOVTV on Comcast Channel 16, stream live on the GOVTV website at: https://www.cabq.gov/artsculture/govtv, on Zoom Webinar, and on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/6SiwJqSKOOQ. The GOVTV live stream can be accessed at these addresses from most smartphones, tablets, or computers. The video recording of this and all past meetings of the City Council will also remain available for viewing at any time on the City’s website. District 4 Summer Picnic Celebrates Former City Councilor and Community Center Gymnasium


City Councilor Brook Bassan (D-4) is hosting a Summer Picnic next Tuesday, August 23 at 6:00 p.m. at the North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center. The picnic will celebrate the new Brad Winter Gymnasium and will honor former City Councilor Winter's accomplishments. ABQ RIDE Adds New Park and Ride Location at Singing Arrow Community Center


The City Transit Department, ABQ RIDE, has added a new Park and Ride location at the Singing Arrow Community Center. The Park and Ride will serve Routes 1, 66 and 777. This is a great time to use public transit if you haven't tried it yet, and the new Park and Ride location makes it that much easier to park your car and leave the driving to ABQ RIDE. ONC Hosting In-Person Training This Saturday, August 20


The Office of Neighborhood Coordination is pleased to offer a free, in-person training, Making Meetings Work, on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the Los Duranes Community Center, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. This training is open to the public, but advance registration is required. The training, presented by Rudy Garcia, Ed.D, provides attendees with the knowledge necessary to conduct effective meetings. Meetings can work against groups if they are not well-planned, well-managed, or if their purposes are misunderstood. Attendees will learn to identify purposes for holding meetings and identify techniques for having productive meetings that accomplish meeting goals and objectives. Refreshments will be served.
