Valley Community Policing Council Meeting on August 25

The Valley Community Policing Council(CPC) will meet on Thursday, August 25 at 6:00 p.m., both in person at the Johnny Tapia Wells Park Community Center, and by Zoom. The meeting will include a presentation by Glen St. Onge, Director of the Bernalillo County Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion Program. The LEAD model works with the community to help individuals at risk of non-violent criminality related to drug use, prostitution, and poverty, and assists these individuals in finding resources in behavioral treatment programs. Such programs have been shown to save money by reducing utilization of the criminal justice system, and reducing personal harm by promoting improvements in housing, employment, and income/benefits in those referred. To attend via Zoom, visit: https://www.cabq.gov/cpoa/community-policing-council under the monthly meeting calendar.
