The map is wrong. It needs to be rotated to the left 180 degrees.Jon KnudsenOn Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 02:46:38 PM MST, Jana Hazelbaker via Neighbors_nobhill-nm <neighbors_nobhill-nm@mailman.swcp.com> wrote:The city is gradually allowing for the “canyonizing” of Central and Silver with these multi-story units being built directly on the sidewalk. Change is certainly inevitable but destroying the look and feel of the neighborhood and the ability of the sun to shine on those sidewalks isn’t. Perhaps this new project won’t be similarly objectionable. Why do single family homes have setback requirements but these newer, multi-story buildings don’t? Why doesn’t the solar regulation apply to them? Developers are having their way and no one in city hall (none of the elected officials or personnel with whom I’ve communicated) seems inclined to take control and enforce code, aka do their jobs.As for why storefronts are empty, perhaps the lockdown finished off what ART didn’t destroy. We knew before Lead and Coal were made one-way racetracks and ART was approved that these “enhancements” wouldn’t benefit the neighborhood and they haven’t.The city has essentially been flashing it’s middle finger at this neighborhood for sometime. It’s important to get involved with the developer and the hearing process on this and other projects in hopes of preventing the city from granting additional permanent code violations on the neighborhood.Jana HazelbakerOn Thu, Nov 17, 2022 at 1:25 PM Scott Snyder via Neighbors_nobhill-nm <neighbors_nobhill-nm@mailman.swcp.com> wrote:hazelbakerj@gmail.comThanks. Ya, it's gonna look out of place but if we want people to live, work, eat and play in this part of town, change is inevitable. I wish I knew for sure why we have so many empty store fronts still empty. Lease/rent can't be the only reason._______________________________________________On Thu, Nov 17, 2022 at 10:54 AM JOHN ALBERTY <johnalberty@comcast.net> wrote:The property at the Southeast corner , it has the number 3300 on your map. They are planning a three story apartment complex with up to 40 units with the entrance on Wellesley and the exit on the alley. I think anything that large is out of character with the neighborhood.

Which property and what are they planning?

It will affect traffic, parking etc. And it will be the tallest building in the neighborhood and it's the only property that has been zoned RMH, from Girard to Washington. This is an important change to the entire neighborhood and should be on the radar of everyone living in the Nob Hill area.
