Dave, the State Bar's Legal Resources for the Elderly Program (LREP) suggested this information. Good luck!

NM's Aging and Long-Term Services Department, through the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), has a program that provides counseling on various health
insurance and assistance programs. The program is called SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) and SHIP counselors are trained and certified to advise on various options available to Medicare beneficiaries including Parts A & B, Medicare Advantage,
Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D), Medigap or Supplement Plans, and other programs that help people with limited resources pay for health care costs. SHIP counselors can help a person navigate the system, compare costs and benefits of Medicare with
other health insurance options, and can help with enrollment that fits a person's needs.
LREP often refers seniors looking to compare Medicare options to the ADRC's SHIP program. The SHIP program can be reached at 1-800-432-2080, or if tech savvy,
you can chat with a live agent by visiting the website at https://aging.nm.gov/services/aging-disability-resource-center-adrc/medicare/ship
and clicking the chat icon in the lower right corner of the page.
