Asian Tiger Mosquitos.  Ugh.  We've had great success with the little portable usb rechargable bug zappers.  The type that emit that eerie blue/black light.  We've got six that we move around the house to where we think they may be needed at night.  One always goes in the bathroom near the plants, and one on each nightstand (they don't make any noise).  You have to clean them out and charge them every day but hey, it's better than waking up with mosquito bites.

I was outside yesterday afternoon,  seems to be great time for them to be active. They are a new breed & have been here for a couple of years. Very small, black, insidious; one was in my house, I was bitten more than once in minutes, & I had an allergic reaction, itching everywhere. Never take allergy pills, but was concerned it was a food allergy until I saw the mosquito. Finally swatted him! Blood coming out of TINY creature… only reason I’m recounting this is I get mosquito reports from FL where new species arrive on ships, barges, etc. My brother has had very serious infections from the new breeds. Mosquito patrol, yes they have them, says there is a new breed this year, as well. Bug zappers w/ lights are not effective…Last bit of info from there, they don’t even need standing water, just moisture from underside of plants; this is 2nd hand info from FL, but I like to be outside working :(
