Hi John,
Agree that if someone on our neighborhood Nob Hill board knows what is going on with that massive piece of property, they need to please let the membership know. Because it sounds like it was apartments and now won't be. So what is going to be? This is the part of our neighborhood association that my wife and I are concerned about - and that is, that the good people trying to help our neighborhood, need help. That ABQ is changing and they are not prepared for it. Those of us who come from states where rapid gentrification happened and then developers ruined a "historic" neighborhood by tearing down everything and building grotesque huge non-conforming properties.
Are we prepared as a neighborhood if a HUGE, completely non conforming house (think modern Farm House style) goes up on that property? Have we done any work to limit the tearing down of old pueblo homes and letting any (usually crappy and only concerned about money) developer just start building whatever they want? Do we have any restrictions on that in our "historic" neighborhood? I bet we don't. But why not? Other historic neighborhoods are not just "historic" in name, they set restrictions on what can be done with a property so that developers (who often don't even live in the neighborhood) can't come in and just start tearing down cute pueblos and building garbage homes that look ridiculous. It's coming everyone so we better start discussing this as a neighborhood. Our neighborhood definitely needs to advertise for someone to run social media on instagram - it's just not being done properly now (and forget about Facebook, you never even get a response).
If anyone knows - for sure - what is going on up on that huge property they are tearing down, please let us know.
Thank you,
Michael P.

We had meetings last year regarding this property. If the Nob Hill Neighborhood group and it's leaders know something about what is happening with regards to this property I think it would be appropriate for them to inform the neighbors. This is an important and major change to the neighborhood and we should be kept informed of any changes. I would appreciate any information the association has knowledge of. I feel that would be much better than just rumors going around. Thank you for this email. We recently reached out to Consensus Planning, who represented the developer in its demolition permit application, for an update. They indicated they would pass our request to the developer. At the moment all we have is the indication we had at that time that it is to be apartments.Any information we learn we will, of course, pass on to our community.#VivaNobHillGaryGary L.
