Community Care Kit Assembly Recap
On July 23 at 5:30 PM, members of our community, including from the NHNA and MVCC, came together to assemble care kits to support our unhoused neighbors. A team from ACS joined us and took the 80 assembled kits for distribution.
We checked in with Walter Adams, the Mental and Behavioral Health Division Manager, to see how the kits are being used, here is his response:
"Our teams are absolutely using the care kits, and the recipients are very thankful! We are grateful for everything you have done, not only in organizing the care kits but for your ongoing support of ACS and our Responders! We appreciate you all very much!"
Walter also mentioned that their teams carry the kits in their vehicles, distributing them as needed. Of the 80 kits, they have already given out a little more than half.
The assembly event was not only productive but also enjoyable. Afterwards some of us shared a drink and some nosh at Lizard Tail Brewing, a local brewpub. Great fun.
Thank you to everyone who participated!
We plan to continue this effort on the third Tuesday of each month. Our next assembly will be on August 20 at 5:30 PM at the MVCC. Rev. Dawn and Meta will conduct an inventory this week, but we still need your support. Please consider joining us and donating. Here is the donation sheet.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Rev Dawn & Meta.
