Hello neighbors:

I'm still not sure how to respond correctly to posts here, but here goes:

About which judges have presided over different cases, that information appears to be available at the case lookup website that someone else posted here.  If one enters the defendant's name at the appropriate spot, (last name first), you will see all the cases and each one lists the judge involved.  This link may help:

https://caselookup.nmcourts.gov/caselookup/app

Thanks.

All,

Please reveal which judges keep releasing this repeat offender, as we have judicial retention votes coming up soon. KOAT continues to fail to reveal the judges' names in their "reporting" of these cases.
NOTE: The NM Legislature recently failed to address the issue of keeping mentally-ill criminals safely away from citizens.

Thanks,

Juan

Hello All,

You can always look up the public records for cases in NM on the NM Case
Lookup website <https://caselookup.nmcourts.gov/caselookup/>. Searching is
done by Name, DOB, etc of an individual.

I'm no expert at reading these cryptic records, but from what I can tell,
the most recent "release and bond" entry for this individual was on 9/20:

Case Detail
Case NumberCurrent JudgeFiling DateCourt
T-4-CR-2024005546
           Rodriguez, Christine E.
                                               09/20/2024
                                     ALBUQUERQUE METROPOLITAN
But please, before you take any of this info into account for voting
purposes, do thorough research to understand which judges are actually
responsible for the variety of decisions made in this complex system.

I hope this was helpful and provided a tool for becoming more informed and
civically engaged.

Best,
Marcus

Yes. As stated in my original message, I am tracking the Court System message. She was arrested on 9/20 for the ax wielding event, that occurred two weeks prior. Historically, she is released shortly after being arrested. Revolving door.?

Our Judges are not so much to blame as are the conditions of current
jurisprudence, social services, mental health services, and the community's
failure to support these services. Arresting and incarcerating the mentally
ill only fills the jails with the mentally incompetent and does not treat
the root cause of the mental illness. Yes, for most, out of sight is out of
mind. However, we also do not have the resources to keep the mentally ill
and incompetent incarcerated. That includes having competently trained
corrections officers.  This is a social issue that WE have continued to
ignore, deny, and defund.
You get what you pay for.
In my personal experience, other "developed" nations actually apply more
resources and have better results.
Our judges, and the "system", are restrained by the lack of will and
resources on the part of the state and federal legislatures, voted into
office by us, who prefer to follow shallow populist policies that ignore
the root causes of the issue.
In other words, pay attention, look beyond the superficial aspects,
financially support systems that actually work, and act to provide basic
resources.
Understand that You/We are all responsible for the current state of
affairs, rather than look for blame elsewhere.

And judges have to follow the law. We need revised laws to address dangerous criminal activity by those with mental illness. No one wins with a revolving door.??

Sam,

Thank you! Yes, I agree with almost every word here, except for the last sentence "you/we" are to blame. It's the system.  Power is concentrated at the top, so even though it might not be visible, a lot of the "we" in that sentence (including YOU), are resisters!

Arresting and incarcerating the mentally ill only fills the jails with the mentally incompetent and does not treat the root cause of the mental illness. Yes, for most, out of sight is out of mind. However, we also do not have the resources to keep the mentally ill and incompetent incarcerated. That includes having competently trained corrections officers.  This is a social issue that WE have continued to ignore, deny, and defund.
