We will be submitting a proposal to repave Girard NE from Lomas south to where the last repave was done (really good) around San Rafael SE. This would benefit the whole neighborhood and all the heavy traffic Girard receives.

When Girard was reconfigured several years ago, all that was done to this very busy street was a "light coat" of repave oil. It was all for 'show' with absolutely no help to the road.

Subject: [Neighbors] $1.5 Million to Improve District 6

Nob Hill friends and neighbors,

Each CABQ Councilor can spend $1.5 million per year on Capital Projects to improve the district.

Capital Projects are construction, rehab, or renovation of infrastructure that will be used for at least 10 years.

Councilor Rogers plans to allocate her funds using Participatory Budgeting where citizens in her district propose, evaluate, and choose the projects.

The initiative is underway, facilitated by city council staff and organized by citizens of District 6 who have volunteered.

One of those volunteers is a Hilleña who has provided this link that explains types of projects and allows you to submit ideas.

At the bottom it shows examples of ideas that qualify.

Proposals can be accepted until Dec. 15.

Early in the new year they will facilitate a participatory process, a vote, among citizens to choose the projects to fund.

She has offered a meetup if Hilleños or others would like. If you let me know I’ll pass that along to her and get a meetup.

If you reply to all she can follow the dialogue.
