I’m sorry to say I will not be able to attend this evening’s meeting due to a nasty GI bug (I’m guessing there’s no Zoom option) but I found a couple articles on the web:
1.  In 2019, the UNM School of Architecture kicked off a project for homeless/public toilets. Not sure it went anywhere https://saap.unm.edu/news-events/2019/03/restroom-refresh-making-facilities-accessible-to-the-homeless.html

2.Portland Loo is the one I’d read about in the past year or so https://www.route-fifty.com/infrastructure/2023/08/cities-struggle-solve-public-restroom-problem/389812/ They look costly and I don’t see a date on this article, nor did i see additional information. But this is sun I started feeling puny yesterday. 

It is sounding like this project would be beyond the scope of what we’re trying/ having funds to accomplish.

I used to work for Parks and Recreation - Public toilets were a huge nuisance.   They turned into places to do drugs and even rapes were common in them.  It didnt help any of the communities they were in.  Clean up was more of a mess with them.

You are absolutely right, $1.5 million is a drop in the bucket compared to the City Capital budget of $175 million.  Wouldn’t it be great if Mayor would pledge some of that to this process!!!

Either way the plan is to take the projects to the legislature to get more capital dollars for PB so we can do more.

Sadly, $1.5 million will not go very far to accomplish any one of the great needs in District 6.  I'm still waiting for the CABQ Parks Dept. to mitigate the scar left by the naked retention pond adjacent to the International District Library.  $1.5 million may pay to accomplish half that, providing construction costs don't increase.  It's just so regretful.  Perhaps the City might replace a few dead trees in the District.
