Workshop Leader
- The Rev. David Wilson Rogers
- Master of Divinity from Lexington Theological Seminary
and a Master of Communication from Eastern New Mexico University
- For the last 23 years he has served as the Pastor of
First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Carlsbad, New Mexico where he
is a bi-vocational pastor with a secondary calling as the Program Director for
Carlsbad Life House running a 26-bed drug and alcohol inpatient rehabilitation
center.
- Dave has spent decades advocating for Social Justice,
Civil Rights, Voter Rights, Gender Equality, Peace, LGBTQ+ Rights,
Environmentalism, and Human Rights in Kentucky and New Mexico.
- Beginning as an historian and professor at the College
level, he began a detailed historical study of the delicate dance between
religion and national politics giving rise to his personal understanding of the
history of Christian Nationalism.
- Living in the Permian Basin, his passion for
environmental justice has been accentuated by the explosive increase in fossil
fuel extraction in the Permian Basin.
- As a part of his activism, Dave has spoken at the United
Nations Conference on Climate Change in Madrid, Spain and the White House
before the Biden Administration’s Commission on Climate Change.
