Just want to throw in that 110 rooms doesn't necessarily mean 110 cars ~ its quite possible that many will taxi or Uber to/from the airport and attractions (or some may be coming to visit family or friends who will chaufer them about).
I do feel for those nearby, though, and very much hope things work out well. There have been changes in the hood that I was quite against which later proved to be ok (the concerns I had did not manifest).
Meanwhile, its a beautiful building with lots of places to eat and shop nearby :)

It should be noted that the Developer (Titan) held a facilitated meeting with the Nob Hill Neighborhood Association last year, which I attended along with Gary and only a few others. The notice for that meeting was sent out to everyone on this listserv. A facilitated meeting with the developer, with a City-approved facilitator present to take notes and communicate the neighborhood's concerns to the City, is the appropriate venue to express concerns about an upcoming development's impact on the neighborhood. PS - if I recall correctly, no one who attended that call was concerned about traffic; only one person was concerned about parking.A hotel with 110 rooms does not mean that 110 vehicles will be on the road all at the same time. The surrounding roadways (Girard, Carlisle, Central, Lead/Coal, and Lomas) have more than adequate capacity to handle new trips generated to and from the destination. We are not nearing capacity anytime soon on those roadways. If 110 new cars per day broke our roads, we would have a much bigger problem. It's very likely that the guests of this future hotel are interested in staying in a walkable neighborhood, so they will hopefully walk and frequent the great restaurants, bars, and retail locations available to them in our vibrant neighborhood.More hotel rooms = more paying customers = more opportunities for business = less vacant storefronts. I believe that last point is something everyone on this listserv has expressed as a shared goal for Nob Hill!I'm personally excited for this project and am glad we are seeing infill development on a formerly dilapidated property (where a meth lab exploded back in 2019).Have a good evening everyone!Ciaran

And the tiny additional traffic is insignificant compared to the the possible gains from having a viable business in our area and a building that's not a falling-down wreck. My observation about traffic along Central is that narrowing it to one lane in some places crowds the cars together, so that it's much much more difficult for a pedestrian to find a break in order to cross. We need to bring back a bump-out and painted crosswalks on every corner to promote walking between the sides of the street.I want small businesses to thrive in Nob Hill and they can only do that if the place looks good and there are many customers. I am fortunate enough to be able to walk to visit those businesses. When I occassionally drive to Central, it really doesn't bother me to cruise around for awhile to find a parking spot. That's one of the the normal characteristics of living in a vibrant city area. If you have a passenger that's not too mobile, drop them off before parking. What we all ought to be concerned about and work to overcome are the abandoned buildings and unused business spaces and housing spaces in Nob Hill. There are plenty of both.Spencer N.- - - -Thank you to Josh Rogers of Titan Development who has provided this rendering of the planned hotel at the Hiway House site which has been approved by Marriott, who will operate the hotel, and Titan leadership. Titan shared an early version a couple months ago and this final version incorporates community input from that meeting. We appreciate their partnership. They hope to break ground by the end of the year with construction anticipated to take approximately 24 months.
