Dear Neighbors,

As most of you know, the new owner of the historic Nob Hill Shopping Center is now charging $4 an hour (plus fees) to park.  This includes the parking lots in front of and behind La Montañita Co-op.  The only exception is from 6 am-11 am.

Many of us, including business owners, are upset about the negative impact that this will have on all of us.  Not only is it an added expense for shoppers, it also means that people will spend less time in Nob Hill, putting all of our small businesses at risk.

We already know that the owner (per the attached Albuquerque Journal story) will not allow La Montañita to renew their lease.  He is considering allowing them to build a new structure on the property, but does not want the current space to continue as a super market.

The Nob Hill Neighborhood Association has added this issue to the September Board Meeting agenda.  Please attend the meeting this Tuesday, September 1st at 6:30 where we can discuss what we can do as a community to keep our neighborhood strong.
