Hello-

Your google map shows Aspen Vista Picnic Ground, then a dotted line heading out from that. The dotted line represents the Aspen Vista/Tesuque Peak Road that goes up to the radio towers at the top of the downhill ski area. Plenty of parking. Very popular trail for walkers, snowshoers, and XC skiers --- and dogs.

Though I’ve lived in NM a long time, I am also having a hard time pinning down Aspen Vista Road.  It doesn’t pop up on google maps nor Gaia GPS’s maps. Is it perhaps now called U.S. Forest Service Rd 102, which shows up on google and Gaia or possibly Forest Service Rd 150 which shows up on Gaia’s maps? See below

Hello,
Aspen Vista Trailer is by Ski Santa Fe. You can Google it. Good trailer for XC Ski and snowshoeing.

Where is Aspen Vista located? Nothing coming up in my search.

I’m new to NM, and wanting to get into skiing, but since we cannot have outings for me to learn in the group, I may stick with snowshoeing just to get to know the area.

Any suggestions on good snowshoe spots for this weekend would be great. Went to Santa Fe last weekend, but hoping for something closer. Is there enough snow on 10k trail??

Thanks,
Newbie Tammy

Subject: [NMCCSC] Aspen Vista Road

The skiing conditions on the Aspen Vista Road today ranged from very good toI excellent. There was probably 4 or 5 inches of new snow from yesterday. As you would expect, the first mile had been skied, snowshoed and walked a lot though I did not encounter any rocks or other obstacles. After the first mile up until mile 4 where I turned around the conditions were excellent. I only saw 3 other people as I was going up and 6 or 7 on the way down.
