Hello Skiers,

On Monday, December 21, six Ski Club members skied Coyote Trail on the Valles Caldera National Preserve (VCNP). This trail is located across NM-4 from Valle Grande in the Jemez Mountains.

The snow conditions were excellent with about 7 inches of powder snow. Although Club volunteers had removed all the down trees several weeks ago, we found about a half-dozen trees across the trail. A few of these were removed with the pruning saw that Michael Arndt was carrying.

The tour was led by Michael Arndt and Sam Beard, and the other skiers were Lewis and Laura Shepardson, Amy Mathis, and Carol Miller.
