Hello Skiers, I am tentatively planning on leading this outing to Puerto Nambe on Wednesday if the Santa Fe Ski basin reports at least an additional 6 inches out of the next 2 forecasted storms. This will be a 9 to 10 mile outing and you will need full skins for the first .9 miles up to the wilderness boundary. Depending on the conditions, kicker skins might also be useful to carry if you have them. Sam Beard rates this as a class 3 outing in his book Ski Touring in Northern New Mexico . We will meet at 7:30 on the far north side of the parking lot opposite Target on Paseo del Norte.
