Greeting skiers,

I was lucky enough to have the day off to enjoy fresh snow on our own mountain!  Sandia received approximately 3 new inches of snow from last night's storm.  It wasn't a huge amount, but it was enough to freshen everything up for a glorious outing.  James and I parked in the 10K lot about 10:30 this morning.  The road was in the process of being plowed and by time we got back to the car it was totally clear.  We skied up on someone else's tracks through the 10k and upper meadow to get to the Ellis parking area.  From there we enjoyed Switchbacks and once beyond the Survey trail junction we were the first ones to lay tracks the rest of the way up.  The upper service road was a fun descent and Kiwanis meadow was lovely.  We looped back around and hooked up with the Crest trail to get back to the upper service road.  We wanted to enjoy the descent down Switchbacks in its entirety so we backtracked back to the upper trailhead.  I kn
ow 3 inches isn't much, but that is really all we needed to freshen up our base.  This was my most enjoyable Crest outing this season.  Should be good tomorrow as well.  I may be able to head back up after work but it will have to be a late afternoon session.

Enjoy!

-Amy
