Laura-  the trails Terri reported on are actual trails, as in hiking.  A map of these trails can be found on the Sandia Ranger District Forest Service website.  NMCCSC uses these trails; they would be considered  Class 2.  The Ellis service road and Switchback Trail out of the Ellis parking lot would be the most accessible and fun for novice trail skiers. 

There is a well-defined groomed trail system, corduroy and track, east of Ellis and west of 10KNorth trailheads.  Sandia Nordic reports they will be grooming these loops on Friday.

Depending on your preference, either of these systems will give you a fantastic experience all weekend!  Grab it while you can!   Bet Gendron
