Sam- thanks so much for sending this! I have been obsessed with Shackleton and the Endurance for a long time. If you haven't seen it, there is a PBS show called "Chasing Shackleton" about a group who re-created the voyage in a life boat across the Wedell Sea to the rescue station on South George Island.

Hello Skiers,

Those of you who are interested in Antarctic history are familiar with the story of Shackleton’s expedition to the Antarctic in which his ship, Endurance, was crushed by the ice and sank in 1915.

The Endurance has been found 10,000 feet below the ice.

On a later expedition, Shackleton died and was buried on South George Island on March 5, 1922, and the first images of the Endurance were taken on March 5, 2022, 100 years later.

The attachment is a copy of the National Geographic article on their Web site today. It is 32 pages long with many pictures.
