Hello Skiers,

On Sunday, Oct. 23, Michael Arndt and Sam Beard will be removing fallen trees from the East Fork East Loop that is an excellent route for cross country skiing, especially the segment that is on the north side of the ridge. We will either hike directly from the loop back to the vehicles at the Los Griegos parking lot or hike west on the ridge trail and turn south to get to the cars. The decision will depend on what the group wants to do or it could depend on the weather. The hiking distance is 3 or 4 miles.

The weather forecast is possibly showers with a high of 49F. Please come prepared for showers and cool weather.

Bring eye and ear protection, a hard hat, warm clothes, lunch, snacks, drinks, and work gloves. We will be using a chain saw. Wear good boots with slip-resistant soles.

Meet at 8 am on the west side of the Target store SE of the intersection of I-25N and Paseo Del Norte. We will be in a large black Ram pickup and blue and white SUV. We will plan to carpool.

We will plan to return to ABQ by 6 pm or earlier.

Please let me know if you need a hard hat. I can also provide ear plugs.

Please call or email me if you have questions.
