I skiied Aspen Vista Road (on the way to Santa Fe Ski Basin, for any newbies reading this), and it was fine.  No rocks, lots of cold snow (ski area claims 12"), nice day under low clouds with some fog.  The only downside is hikers and snowshoers have mashed all the snow down, not leaving any decent ski track.  Still worth doing, or maybe try Norski if you want a track.

4 of us brave souls skied at the Crest today and it was FABULOUS. I drove up to the Ellis Trailhead. We started up the Crest Trail, went to the edge of the meadow, headed up to the upper service road and back down Switchback. The snow was great. Yes, a few rocks and pieces of wood on the trail, but very few. We had zero expectations and it was FABULOUS. Get up there. You'll love it. We did.
