I'm considering a tour out to Brazos overlook for Saturday.
My copy from my draft on the Meetup site:
Moderate
level cross-country ski outing to a gorgeous destination: the dramatic Brazos Cliffs lookout. This is a 6-7 mile round-trip tour over rolling terrain with about 650 feet of elevation gain. You need to be able to ski downhill sections and do some short climbs.
You won't need climbing skins, but skis with a climbing pattern that works for you or the appropriate climbing wax. We have a hill or two to climb by traversing or herring bone. Bring enough drink and food for the day. The duration of our day will depend on
the snow conditions too. Elevation for our outing is around 10,000 ft.
This is a 110 mile drive each way from Santa Fe, so a long day.
I think it would be a Class II.
I will decide today whether to offer this to both this group and the Santa Fe Sierra Club Meetup members, so let me know.
