I'll just add to what Peter wrote. Saw Peter on the 1st tram up so we were the only skiers on the Ellis Network. No snowshoes, no postholers, NOBODY! Nice but a little eerie.
It seemed to me most trails had a couple new inches which made conditions good. Ellis service road and small parts of sun exposed trails were hard packed and icy yet should soften with rising temps each day.
Peter made a track on Gravel Pit and continued on to Survey. I made a track on Buried Cable, upper service road, upper Switchback and Rocky Point. We cleared as much debris and broken branches as possible so it should be good to go for tomorrow! It was nice enough that I may head back up again tomorrow and enjoy skiing without doing trail maintenance!
I only saw 1 downed tree so the rest must have been on Survey. It was the one Peter mentioned on lower Switchback just as you're starting on it near the wood sign that says trail maintained by ski club. Instead of trying to get around it since it does block the trail, I went down to Ellis service road near the parking lot where there's another access to Switchback.
One last thing to note....there are some snow drifts that created little wells (troughs) on trails to watch for where one ski may dip down lower and offset your balance. Rocky Point trail was more sloped on parts due to drifts but it's skiable for sure.
Enjoy!
