The Valles Caldera Preserve was closed today.  They had not plowed their road but not that may not be the case by Saturday.  Coyote Call trails are an option if parking is available.

The trails at Los Griegos parking area- between MM 34-35- should hold up through Saturday.  The East Fork trails on the North side of HWY 4 are really nice. Check out Sam Beard’s trails book for the Jemez if you can find a copy.

Hope you have a good time on the snow wherever you may find it.

Glad to offer some info on conditions in the Jemez.  I will be going out this afternoon near the intersection of 4 and 126.  Then maybe closer to Valle Grande.  We got 6 1/2 inches at 126 over night.  It is warming today and the snow is getting heavy already.   So breaking trail should be expected.
Could be wonderful especially early in the day.  I will update info later today.

Good evening!

I am hoping to ski either Jemez or Valles Caldera, or both, this coming weekend. I will be coming down from Taos early Saturday a.m. and staying near Los Alamos. Hoping to ski both locations, but have never skied in either. Sunday looks to be quite warm so I will plan to head out earlier.

Looking for anyone who would like to meet up and ski for a few hours Saturday and Sunday.  Feel fee to reach out directly.
