Seeing as you asked. The way I interpret NM roads maps is to look at roads first, and if there’s no road-specific information, look at the region for general information.
So 14 and the crest road aren't specifically marked (which I interpret as “they don’t know yet”). However, the Tijeras area is marked yellow for difficult driving conditions. The details by that symbol say that driving is difficult and crews are out on NM 14 and others. With that, I reason that the crews aren’t likely out along unmarked minor roads in the region. Because higher elevation roads will likely be worse while major lower-elevation roads, the Crest Road likely got hit worse than 14 (which is bad).
So the Crest Road was closed yesterday. New snow came last night making it worse. NM Roads doesn't say that they are working on it so they don’t know.
Conclusion: if it’s not closed, it probably isn’t very drivable.

That was on the 16th... As of 8am on 17th, NMROADS says it's open. What to believe?
