Greetings Skiers-  Cibola Ntl Forest has sent out a long notice regarding the present upgrading of the Nine Mile Picnic Area, above Capulin on the Crest Hwy.  In short- they have received good funding to completely renovate the site, to make it safe and enjoyable for recreation.  Construction is going on at present, expected completion in a very few months.  

Challenge Trail, which goes alongside the area, will remain open to use.  The Forest Service has asked the public to stay out of Nine Mile until further notice and when using Challenge Trail, to be very wary of equipment and activity.    Bet
