All,
Saturday Nov. 11 the crew consisting of Jenny Blackmore, Richard Besser, Scott Dietrich, David Dunlap. Erik Spoerke, John Quinley, Ray Iturralde and myself installed three 50ft. sections of snow fencing in the 10K meadow area to capture snow in the side-sloped ski trail east of 10K meadow and at a trail section prone to burn off, SW of the 10K meadow. We were greeted by around 3-4 inches of fresh soft snow that helped us get in winter mode. The crew made quick work hauling, pounding in posts and installing fencing with some challenges in the rocky sections. The prior week, Scott and I, using the FOSM brush cutters, cleared trail to improve snow holding. Next pre-season chores include placement of trail signs and hauling up our two, yes our twin ATVs. Thanks to the NM Trails plus grant and Scott’s grant writing skills, we were able to purchase a second ATV!
Here's to a great El Nino winter!
Jeff
L to R: John Quinley, David Dunlap, Jeff Huser, Ray Iturralde, Erik Spoerke, Jenny Blackmore, Scott Dietrich, Rich Besser
Extra oats tonight for the mule team!
Rocky sections made for a good work-out pounding posts.
Already seeing the benefit of brush cutting.
