I agree.

I skied Klaus, Rocky Point and the service road. All three are in remarkably good condition.  Though the snow is hard packed, it’s not icy and the grooming has produced a wonderful skiing surface on the service road and Klaus.

Sandia cross country ski report:
12/30/23 12:30-3:30.
North 14: dry

Crest Road: Same as 12/29
Parking: 10K & Ellis plowed.

Snow: We skied out the Ellis Trail and back on the Survey. The conditions were still remarkably good. Had a great time!

Crest Road: plowed.  Some switchbacks are icy especially that one down low that never gets sun. Car slid out going down and stuck on guardrail around noon-ish.

Parking: 10K & Ellis plowed.

Snow: no new snow. Service road tracks set by Sandia Nordic yesterday are essentially eliminated by a snow cat (presumably servicing the tram or restaurant). Some accomplished skiers were skating the service road but choppy in places.
Tracks on Klaus trail  in good shape.  Rocky Point was packed snow; looked skiable.
