Greetings, Skiers! In the interest of providing a friendly means of inter-Club communications, the Ski Club Board has worded a new policy statement for the use of our Egroups system. The purpose is to allow for information between members with civility, and keeping down the amount of Club emails that end up in members' inboxes.
Some points- the Egroup system may be used by any member of NMCSkiClub to report conditions, suggest tours, and share information. It is suggested that responses to an Egroup note be made back to the sender directly- how to do this is not by Reply or Reply All, but by clicking Forward and inserting the sender's address in the Recipients box. Of course there are times that the Club may benefit from a very spare and neutral interchange, like in the recent bootsole repair discussion. Also, keep in mind that, at least in my system, a 'Send' through Egroups may not come back to you- it is tempting to 'keep sending'. No need- I always put my own address in 'Bcc' so I will get back what I have sent out. Also, if there is an issue that you/others may feel needs to have the attention of the Board, please contact a Board member and it can be considered.
We hope to encourage polite interchange, in keeping with the friendly, positive culture of the Ski Club and its fine members. This policy will be on the Website, and will be made known to members as they join our group:
Any member of NMCCSkiClub using the Egroup system is expected to address other members with respect. Any name-calling, insulting, or otherwise derogatory expressions will not be tolerated. The Club has the right to take remedial action up to and including revoking membership.
Thanks so much. Let's enjoy this season! Bet Gendron, Egroups Chair, NMCCSkiClub Board
