Join University of Colorado School of Medicine master teacher Dr. Todd Miner on Saturday, May 4th, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, for a full day of hands-on skills and practice—you know, the fun stuff!
This class is only open to those who have previously taken Basic Wilderness First Aid, 10th Mountain Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, or Wilderness EMT. It will review core skills and introduce advanced techniques such as litters and carries, dislocations, and bites and stings.
Reinforce key skills, including patient assessment, patient movement, splinting, wound care, and learn new advanced skills and techniques. Multiple scenarios to integrate reviewed and new learning.
As always, lunch-time participant choice for other advanced topics (optional).
Last year's class filled quickly, so early registration is highly recommended.
Students who have completed a Wilderness First Aid class and received certification in the past 2 years may use this class to renew their certificate, and students who have successfully completed the Basic Wilderness First Aid class within the last 2 years can use this class to upgrade to a WFA certification.
