Thanks Mary Kaye. Refreshments chair, (often 2 people) is responsible for a couple of boxes and 4 plastic tubs of supplies and the large water tank that they store throughout the year. These bins hold leftover crackers, chips, trail mix, canned
or bottled drinks, coffee, tea, sugar, serving bowls, platters, paper cups, plates, bowls, utensils, large knives and spoons, paper towels, dish soap, table cloths and dish towels, etc. Also they keep the keys to the back door of the Garden Center and the
padlock on the front gate. The codes to the back gate and the building alarm as well as a debit card are the responsibility of the refreshments chair. They are all on a red lanyard.
We usually show up an hour before the meetings, open up the rooms and turn on the lights. Heating the water in the large water tank is next. Then we open the locks on the front door and gate. After at least 2 tables are set up, plus a drinks cart, we lay
out the table cloths and prepare the food for serving.
After the meeting, we clean up the kitchen and make sure the trash is emptied, floor swept, front gate locked, trash cans lined with new garbage bags. Several members consistently help in the kitchen, or put away tables, sweep floors and take out the trash,
etc. Finally, we set the alarm and lock the doors before leaving.
At Christmas we serve a pot luck, brought by the members, and need at least 3 tables set up. At our final meeting in March, we have a tradition of serving a couple of cheesecakes.
I have enjoyed being 1/2 of the refreshments Chair.
Sincerely,
Marcia

Good Morning Everyone!
The Refreshment Committee volunteers for the 2025/2026 ski season has not yet been filled. There have been a few inquiries, but no commitments at this time.
Responsibilities include: Shopping once a month for a simple snack, cups, napkins, tea and bottled water. 30 minutes prior to the meeting the electric kettle for hot water will need to be set up. Board has agreed a less complex menu for the refreshment break
will allow the refreshment volunteers to attend the presentation and the business meeting. Snack choice is up to the Refreshment volunteers and doesn't require it to be refrigerated items such as cheese or fruit. Trail mix, energy bars or cookies would be
fine.
Please direct any questions about this position to myself or another Board Member.
Thank you for your interest.
