Hi all,
James was supposed to assist at the Jon Delios clinic but the gate was closed. We skinned up to the top where James joined the clinic and I skied Klaus, Rocky Point and eventually skied the entire Challenge Trail back to the downhill base area. I even did a few tele turns off of the upper 10k meadow through fresh snow. Don't try that in the mid and lower portions as there isn't really enough. I can't seem to get anything going for myself this season with the club as I missed out on signing up for Delios clinic. My loss.
Conditions:
First rate conditions at the top until just above 9-mile picnic ground. From there on down, snow was heavier and lumpy on the trail due to snowshoe traffic. Fast descent in the upper part but tele turns on the trail were super fun. Couldn't do that in lower portions as I didn't trust the snow conditions and there were still some hidden rocks.
James skied down the downhill area and said it was powdery up at the top but heavier near the bottom.
Road condition this morning was packed snow on the road but no issue at all for the Subaru. Someone told us that gate opened around 11.
By the looks of it, traffic jams were present at Capulan and the downhill base. We only barely found a spot along the road.
Cheers,
Amy

I'll bet many of our skiers were on top today, and elsewhere. There was a clinic, other skiing. What could you share with us? Lots of snow, not so much, conditions? Anxious to hear!
