The Ponderosa Loop is one of the best beginner to intermediate mountain bike rides available in this area. With few obstacles and gentle terrain. You can enjoy the ponderosa and oak meadows with swooping turns and then take westward trails to head back, gradually climbing on an old doubletrack.
Park at Oak Flats main parking lot and meet us by the Oak Flats Trailhead. From there we will work our way across the parking lot to the Ponderosa Loop. Ponderosa Loop is considered a beginner to intermediate level trail. We can add the Alligator Alley to our ride which might add another mile or so. If we do the full length of the route I posted it could end up being about 7 miles with up to 400’ elevation gain. There are many ways to make this shorter or longer if we (you) choose to do so.
The attached map is a general route that we will take.
Please find the attached gpx for the route that you can download to your devices should you choose to do so.
