Hello Everyone,
On Tuesday, September 1, FOSM Paint Crew members Anne Hickman, Rikki Barrett, Jane Harrison, and Sam Beard completed three tasks at the Crest parking area and overlook.
- Applied Yellow Paint to Step Edges – Yellow paint was applied to a 2-inch wide strip along the edge of
the steps in the long paved walk from the north end of the upper parking lot to the overlook. Steps are found at irregular intervals along this path, and the bright yellow strips alert visitors to the steps.
- Painted Self-Service Pay Station Sign – The large 4-ft by 4-ft sign about paying the Recreation Fee was
painted on both sides. On the back of this old sign, the outer layer of plywood has delaminated in places. Photos of the sign are presented in the attached Word document.
- Checked Area for New Graffiti – Anne and Sam checked the overlook area for new graffiti that was added
since the large area of graffiti was removed last week. They found new silver graffiti on the stone wall and the trash container. The graffiti on the container was painted over with brown paint, and the silver graffiti will be removed next week after the new
remover has arrived.
When we arrived at the Crest, the temperature was 49 F, and when we left a storm was moving in and rain was starting. The work on Tuesday completed the planned painting in the Crest area. We will continue
to remove graffiti as we find it.
