Hello Volunteers,
We will continue thinning the pinon/juniper forest in the Cedro area south of the ranger station on Wed., April 7.
FOSM committed to thin 36 acres in three years. In the first year we thinned 12 acres in the northern and eastern parts of our 32-acre parcel. We also began working in the western part of this area and have
already thinned about 8 of the 12 acres that we committed to thin in the second year.
Meet at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, at the FOSM Guard Station behind the Ranger Station. We need both chain sawyers and swampers.
Bring a face mask, lunch, snacks, drinks, hard hat, gloves, and eye and ear protection. Sawyers and swampers working near the chain saws must wear chaps. Sawyers are required to wear 8-inch high boots.
To help with planning, please let me know if you plan to work.
