Hello Everyone,
On Wednesday, May 5, 2021, eleven FOSM volunteers worked on felling hazard trees in Doc Long Picnic Area and four other tasks.
- In Cienega Canyon PA, Eric Russell cut a large stump lower where a tree had been felled earlier, and Jerry Carroll limbed and bucked the trunk.
- In Sulphur Canyon PA, at the request of Russell Berman, SRD Trails Foreman, Lou Romero and Dennis Crowther removed flags from trees with green leaves that had looked
dead before they leafed out. They also marked a few hazard trees between the bollards and the upper traffic circle.
- Dan Benton and Sim Cook removed two broken fence posts in Doc Long PA, install two new posts, and bolted poles to the posts. Eric Russell assisted Dan and Sim after
his chain saw work was completed.
- In Doc Long PA, Byron Garner, Bob and Sally Lowder, Sam Beard, and Jerry and Ray Carroll felled 10 hazard trees that Russell Berman had flagged. Limbs were removed and
piled, and trunks were bucked.
- Jerry and Ray Carroll removed a 16-inch diameter dead fir at Tree Spring Trailhead.
