Hello all,
Our next trail work day will be next Saturday June 12, weather permitting. We will meet up at 0800 at Ellis Trail head this time and working until around 1200. We will be working on the most significant re-route in our master plan, so called Bunny Hill which has been the most difficult section to ski in the past. With this reroute in place, the entire trail system will then be accessible to skiers of all ability levels, so we are excited to tackle this section. The plan is to clear brush and low branches from this section to clear the way for Sam Beard and the FOSM saw crew to cut the larger trees on a later date. Please bring your hand saw and or loppers if you have one. We will have a few extras available. Trail workers needing a hard hat, will be given one of the official SNSC hardhats. We will be following the safety guidelines of the Sandia Ranger District and required PPE.
PPE guidelines set by the Forest Service require everyone to wear hardhats, glasses or other protective eyewear, long-sleeved shirts, long pants, closed toe shoes or boots (not running shoes) and work gloves.
Please RSVP to Jeff Huser at jhuser54@comcast.net or text to 505-228-9150. Please provide me with your phone number just in case we have to postpone due to weather.
Hope you can out and join the fun!
Jeff
