Hello Everyone:

Yesterday, Monday, August 9, 2021, the FOSM Trails Maintenance Crew hiked 10K South and Tree Spring trails to remove problem trees and do other trail maintenance as needed.  This was also a summer AAT project for the Nicholson's as 10KS from TH to end of the last ski run is their adopted trail.  A total of five trees, ranging in size from three to ten inches in diameter were removed. These included three trees previously fallen and two that were hung-up. Protruding vegetation, particularly thorny Locust shrub, was cut back for better passage. These two trails are now clear end to end.

As usual, the day was cool in the morning, but warmed up rapidly as the day progressed and altitude went down. The mountain was a bit drier this week, but is still very green with an exceptional display of flowers. It also appears to be a banner year for mushrooms.

Monday's crew consisted of Bill Savage, Rav Nicholson, David McCreery, Sally Lowder, Ken Nicholson, Sim Cook and Bob Lowder.
