This is a Saturday project, so those of you who work during the week, this is opportunity #7 to volunteer! Morning temps should be nice and cool up at 10,000 ft. The Sandia Nordic Ski Trails Project is a combined effort with the two organizations. See details below, and respond directly to Jeff.

Subject: Ski trail work day next Saturday Aug. 28
To: <sandia-nordic-ski-club@googlegroups.com>

Hello all,

After a tough day of skid steer work with Russell clearing out some monster boulders, we are ready now to do finish work and complete the arch. site reroute at 10k. Still some smaller rocks to tend to as the last section is rocky but fortunately not too long. Lets meet at the 10K S parking lot  Saturday at 0830 for a very short hike to the trail and we will finish up at noon. Let me know if you can make it so we have adequate tools and whether you need a hardhat. This time we'll also need to do a bit of pick work and will have a rock bar on hand.  There has been lots of active deer along the Crest road so be careful driving up.  Tentatively the following work day will be Sept. 11.  Hope you can make it.

Regards

Jeff

The SRD PPE requirements are always in effect for trail work days. PPE guidelines set by the Forest Service  require everyone to wear hardhats, glasses or other protective eyewear, long pants, closed toe shoes or boots (not running shoes) and work gloves.
