Offices Close on Monday September 6th
for the Federal Holiday
Labor Day Holiday

Albuquerque, NM – Sept 1, 2021.  All Cibola National Forest and National Grasslands (NF & NGs) Supervisor and District Offices will be closed on Monday, September 6, 2021 in observance of the Labor Day Federal Holiday. The offices will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, September 7th.

Cibola NF & NGs anticipates a large number of visitors over the holiday weekend. Please recreate responsibly and follow state public health orders and Centers for Disease Control guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Although fire danger is decreased, campfire safety and prevention is always a priority. Never leave a campfire unattended, and make sure coals are cold to the touch before leaving the area.

Know before you go. Check the weather forecast and be prepared for seasonal fluctuations in temperature and reduced daylight hours. Use good judgment and basic safety precautions when recreating. Do not rely on cell phones for safety because you may not always have cell coverage in remote sections of the forest or grasslands.

If you plan to visit, please follow "Leave No Trace" principles:

      Plan ahead and prepare

Travel and camp on durable surfaces

      Dispose of waste properly

      Leave what you find

      Minimize campfire impacts

      Respect wildlife

      Be considerate of other visitors
