Please know that following activities will soon be occurring and to plan accordingly with any potential impacts to your work. Most are on weekends and at recreation facilities, so this is most likely to impact the recreation program.
September 16-20 - Oak Flat Group Picnic Areas – ABQ Dirt Fest 12 hour mountain bike race and run. The area will experience increased traffic, increased trail use specifically the day of the events, Saturday 18 and Sunday 19.
September 25 Oak Flat Group area- Oak site – Search and Rescue training will be conducted by multiple organizations.
September 25 – Sandia Crest Marathon – the Marathon will start at 10 K parking area around 6 am. The road will be closed except for emergency personnel beginning at 3 am. The race heads south on Highway 536, then Hwy.14 to west
on 333 to ABQ. Expect delays if you are headed in any of those directions as well as delays heading up the Crest. The Crest Highway should be clear of all activity by 11am.
More events in October after balloon fiesta….
Let me know if you have questions.
