The attached report documents FOSM repairs on one of the Crest Observation Deck railings. The project was requested by SRD's Julie Padilla to mitigate a safety hazard to visitors by securing a very loose railing in front of a six foot drop from the deck.

SRD had installed a temporary fix consisting of a water-filled plastic jersey barrier but some thoughtful visitors figured out how to drain the water from the barrier and tossed it over the railing. Hence the need for a more secure fix pending planned upgrades to the area in 2022.

The task was completed on two work days, November 17 and November 19. A little late in the season for masonry projects at that elevation but it was completed before the very cold weather arrived. The first day involved installing braces on the loose railing while the loose stone work was repaired on the second day. The FOSM volunteers were Betsy Galloway, Don Carnicom, and Bob Galloway.
