Hello Everyone,

I currently have the two following options for projects on Wed., Dec. 1:

  1. Buck Trees in Nine Mile Picnic Area – Large trees have been reported down in Nine Mile Picnic Area, and the SRD wants them bucked and removed before the contractor works on rebuilding the picnic area in the spring. Lou Romero and I will check the PA for down trees on Tuesday morning. If we find down trees, we will work there on Wednesday. I will send an email as soon as possible Tuesday concerning working at Nine Mile PA on Wed.

  1. Remove Graffiti Tags on Boulders 1 mile East of End of Indian School Road – If we do not find trees down in Nine Mile PA, our project will be removing graffiti from boulders about 1 mile east of the end of Indian School Road. Photos of the tags are presented in the attached Word document. Sim Cook found these tags, and he and his wife photographed them. The tag removal process is included in the Word document.

If the project is graffiti removal, please meet at 8:30 am in the relatively small circular parking area at the east end of Indian School Road. If this area is filled with cars, park in the large parking lot a short distance past the small lot. We plan to start hiking from this small parking lot.

We will be carrying at least 2 gallons of chemicals and some gallons of water to the graffiti site. Wear old clothes and hiking boots. Bring eye protection. FOSM will provide nitrile gloves, chemicals, and equipment. Also, bring snacks, drinks, and lunch.

Please let me know if you plan to work on the graffiti removal project.
