Hello Everyone:

Yesterday, Monday, April 4, 2022, the FOSM Trails maintenance Crew hiked portions of Armijo, Faulty and CATIP area trails to remove previously reported fallen trees and to do any other work as required. Three leaning or hung-up trees ranging in size from three to five inches in diameter were removed from Un Poquito trail. On Armijo Trail, a section of a fallen tree that was lying parallel to the top edge of the trail was removed to the lower side as it was already slipping down toward the trail. The major work on Armijo involved the removal of a previously fallen sixteen-inch diameter tree partially blocking the trail near the Faulty Trail junction. Two trees, one eight inches in diameter and the other nine inches in diameter were removed from Faulty. One just uphill from the Armijo Junction and the other halfway to the Madera Locura Trail junction.

The day started out a bit brisk but warmed as the day progressed. All the trails that day were either dry or slightly moist from the recent storms. The moist areas were pretty well packed down. There was no wet mud to contend with. There we only a few small patches of snow in shady north facing areas at the higher elevations.

Monday's crew consisted of Jenny Blackmore, Ravi Nicholson, Byron Garner, Jerry Pekarek, Jamey Browning, Silke Bletzer, Phil Cromer and Bob Lowder.
