Hello Everyone,

On Wed., April 13, FOSM volunteers will be felling hazard trees in Doc Long and Sulphur Canyon Picnic Areas.

We have very few hazard trees to fell Wed. We will be felling pine, fir, and juniper trees. We are postponing selection and felling of oaks and aspens until the leaves are on these trees.

Meet at 8 am at the FOSM Guard Station behind the Ranger Station.

Wear warm clothes and boots with slip-resistant soles. Bring work gloves, eye and ear protection, hard hat, lunch, snacks, and drinks. We will be using chain saws.

I do not have tree maps showing tree locations on satellite photographs. Please see the attached Word document for sketches of the PAs with hazard tree locations indicated by red dots. We have fewer than a dozen trees to fell in these two PAs. If we finish these two PAs early, I know the locations of hazard trees in Cienega PA and on the old Cienega PA Road.
