Hello Everyone,
On Wed., April 20, FOSM volunteers will be felling hazard trees in Cienega Canyon Picnic Area.
We will be felling pine, fir, and juniper trees. We are postponing selection and felling of oaks and aspens until leaves are on these trees.
Meet at 8 am at the FOSM Guard Station behind the Ranger Station.
Wear warm clothes and boots with slip-resistant soles. Bring work gloves, eye and ear protection, hard hat, lunch, snacks, and drinks. We will be using chain saws.
I do not have a map showing hazard tree locations on a satellite photograph. Please see the attached Word document for a sketch of the 19 approximate hazard tree locations indicated by red dots. The maximum
hazard tree diameter is 18 inches.
