Hello Everyone:
Yesterday, Monday, July 25, 2022, the FOSM Trails Maintenance Crew hiked 10K South and Tree Spring trails to remove a recently discovered large hang-up and to do other work as needed. This included cutting back of previously cut protruding logs which had
settled or sagged downhill over time bringing them a bit too close the trail margins, removing newly fallen trees or parts thereof, etc.. By day's end the crew had removed about fourteen logs ranging in size from fifteen to six inches in diameter from 10K
South and one six inches in diameter from Tree Spring.
The day started off cool and pleasant. Some scattered clouds helped keep the temperature down as the day progressed. Some very light showers helped keep the temperature down late in the hike. The flowers are continuing their recovery and are in abundance
in many areas. Grass flourishes in the sunny areas particularly on the ski area slopes where some nears four feet in height. It looks like a good year to be a deer in the Sandias!
Yesterday's crew consisted of Jerry Pekarek, Sally Lowder, Rav Nicholson, Jamey Browning, Ken Nicholson, Cleve Sharp, John Cooper and Bob Lowder.
Please see attached Word document for photos and additional narrative. Photos by Sally Lowder unless otherwise noted.
Thanks,
Bob L.
