Hello Everyone:
Yesterday, September 12, 2022, the FOSM Trail Maintenance Crew hiked Gravel Pit, Rocky Point and a portion of La Luz Trail to remove previously reported hazard trees and do other maintenance work as needed. When the work was done, a total of eight hazard
trees, or portions thereof, ranging in size from about four to fourteen inches in diameter were removed. Trimming back brush, cutting protruding branches, tread repair and other routine tasks were also done.
For the most part, the day was cool with occasional light breezes. The sun was warm in the unshaded areas. It was apparent that there had been a thunderstorm on the mountain, likely late on Sunday. There were numerous patches of pea-sized hail on the ground
giving an early hint as to what winter might look like. The mountain continues to enjoy moist conditions and there were numerous muddy spots.
Yesterday's crew consisted of Jerry Pekarek, Sally Lowder, David McCreery, John Cooper, Jamey Browning and Bob Lowder.
Please see attached Word document for photos and additional narrative. Photos by Sally Lowder, Jamey Browning and Bob Lowder.
Thanks,
Bob L.
